![]() Now what I need to do is, I need to go to my RStudio. Let me go and do it from RStudio, but before that, I need to get out of R, from the Mac terminal, so I will go and quit this, it's asking me whether I want to save? I can say no. Now you can Load or install these other packages also, you can either do it from your RStudio or you can do it from here also. So, go back to the word file that we shared with you, or the word file that is open here. There are other packages also that we need to install. So now you can explore various options within Rattle, but we have only got Rattle working here. And here comes the Rattle package or the software. All we need to do is, we need to call Rattle now from here, using this rattle() and hit Enter. ![]() And now, so we have installed and loaded the Rattle package. Don't worry about this, ignore this part. So, if you see it says that, there's some reason image not found, I think you can skip this. ![]() But first we need to ensure that this package Rattle is installed on our machine. And now, once it is installed, we will have to load this package and start working with Rattle. So, it asked me whether I want to do that, I said yes. That's what I've figured out during interaction with many of you. Sometimes it might throw an error, but run it again. I will say 1, and it should work, but if it does not work, you what you may want to do is, you may try it many times, and then it should work. And these might take a few minutes depending on your machine, it was fast here, then I need to install Rattle. This is in R, it's not Mac dominant, now I go back and, so when I'm on R prompt, I need to install these packages and I'll copy this, and paste it here and it will install these two packages RGTK2 and CairoDevice. If you want to check whether it's working fine or not, you can just check something that you would expect to work within R, I say 2+3. Now as you can see, we are in R console, or I'd say R prompt. Now I'm installing GTK+ here and, it's installed on my machine now, And then I can just call R, To install other packages. Then I brew install gtk, this is the most important part that we need to have this GTK+ on our machines before we can work with Rattle. Then I go back, and do this another piece of code. So I am just going to go and run this piece of code. So I'll copy this, now from here, And go back to our terminal, and R is successfully installed. And you can actually copy this entire chunk at the same time, but I am going to do it line by line. And while it is doing that, I will go and copy this next line of code. It is again asking for password, so, I give my password And as you can see some processes is happening there, so it might take a little bit time. And then I hit return, And it is going to install R 3.6.3 on our machine. And, we are doing this just to make sure that none of our symbols are messed up. And then from here, I'm selecting this entire piece of code. Now I am going to, let me first copy this here. But this command is going to uninstall any previous version of R, if it's there, and it's going to reinstall 3.6.3. So, if you need to use any other version alongside 3.6.3 also, please consult us. If you have any other version 3.5 or 4.0 or anything, that will be uninstalled. Now remember, this piece of code is going to reinstall R on your machine. After which, I will reinstall R, as is written here. This will install Homebrew on my machine. ![]() ![]() After this, it is going to start installing Homebrew, I hit return. This is asking me to give my password, so I enter my password. This will ensure that the quotation marks or any other symbols are not matched up. Copy this, and paste it in your Mac terminal. Now, what I suggest you do is, copy this, and instead of pasting it directly into your Mac terminal, you first open any of your text editor, or maybe this file software here. I'm going to go and, I'm going to go to this repo, and copy this first line of code. And once we have done that, then on the R prompt we are going to run these commands, to install the required packages. The first section has to be run in the Mac terminal, and towards the end if you see, we are calling R inside the Mac terminal itself. So first of all, you need to go to this repo, and here you find these two sections of code. So the provided instructions are here, in this white document, which is available on campus as well. In this installation tutorial, we are going to cover installing R and Rattle on your Mac OS and we will be following the instructions that we shared with you on June 7th. ![]()
